About Us
Our desire was to bring our passion for reptiles to the rest of the Sacramento community. We were regular attendees at other reptile shows held throughout California, and believed the people of Sacramento would support a similar event. From this, the Sacramento Reptile Show was created.
We first opened our doors in the fall of 1998. The event began as a 10 vendor, 1,200 square foot show held in a small meeting room at a local hotel. Over the last 13 years, the Sacramento Reptile Show has grown to 85,000 square feet and is now held in downtown Sacramento at the convention center. The event has attendance of more than 10,000 guests, 4000 reptiles and features 100 professional reptile breeders and educators from across the U.S. The Sacramento Reptile Show is now one of the largest attended reptile shows in the country.
The show provides numerous educational presentations to educate the public on proper care of reptiles in captivity. One of our featured educators, Wild Things, is a highlight of the show when they present "Izod" an 8 foot alligator to the crowd.
The show is also a "sale" where reptile enthusiasts or newcomers to the hobby have the opportunity to meet the breeders, gain first hand knowledge on the care of reptiles, and if interested, take home a new pet.
